New LIFE and Regeneration - Easter 2011

Pupils from our three local Primary Schools, Hallwood Park, Halton Lodge and Woodside, supported by St Chad's School Art Department, entered a Church sponsored Art Competition, The object was for the pupils to draw pictures on theme of NEW LIFE and REGENERATION  to brighten the facade of our now closed and boarded up church hall, while decisions are arrived at as to it's future value to the community.

On Easter Sunday, St. Andrew's welcomed the Rt Rev'd Keith Sinclair, Bishop of Birkenhead who preached a celebratory service of thanksgiving for our Risen Lord and duly opened the Art Exhibition watched by many of the scholars who drew the exhibits and their parents together with the congregation.

We were all very pleased with the high standard of the drawings, most of which are 'thumb-nailed' below, please click on picture to en-large and on the back button to return to this page.

Thank you children for all your hard work.

The first two pictures show the possession of witness, led by Bishop Keith to the church hall for the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.

Pictures 3 to 6 Bishop Keith and Rev. Wullie welcome the congregation and visitors, then Rev 'Wullie' invited Bishop Keith to declare the exhibition open.

Picture 7 Bishop Keith and the Rev. 'Wullie' welcome some of our younger guests, while picture 8 shows bishop Keith with 6 year old Brigit White of Halton Lodge Primary School whose entry 'New Birth' is top right of the drawings on the door of the hall.

Below are the paintings displayed on the hall. Some are signed, here are the names of the pupils Lauren Newby, Owen Hughes, Dylan Morley, Stevie McCormick, Brandon Davies, Kraig Morrisey, Ashlyn, Shannon Morrisey, Lewis Millet, Kaylah, Lauren Scarsbrick, Bridget White and Laura Abbot.
